Welcome to Tails of Love!

Hello My Friend,

If you are reading this it is either because I or someone gave you one of my business cards and you are in need of loving pet care.

Let me welcome you and tell you a bit about what my goals are for Tails of Love.

First and foremost I want all that transpires through Tails of Love to be in some way a reflection of my faith in God. It is His principles and standards that I will uphold as I progress in this business of caring and encouragment. Tails of Love allows me to find ways to remind people and animals that they are important, understood and loved. Finally, I am doing something that I absolutely LOVE to do!

I want you to know that I've been in that terrible position of not knowing who to call when I needed help with my wonderful great dane, Major. He was very old and loosing strength in his back legs as well as some of his bowel control. He had his own twin mattress right in the middle of our living room. Sheets changed every day. All his favorite snacks at just the right time of day. Tons of kisses, hugging, playing and spooning. He was absolutely precious. I miss him so very much.

Whenever we traveled it was always such a pain figuring out who to ask to help take care of Major. Who did it last time? What if they forget, or only come once a day? Who will hug hime and sing to him and baby him the way I do? The answer was noone. Not because they didn't care, but everyone has such busy lives and some people just aren't animal people.

Then one day I met a lady who worked as a petsitter. She ran her business the way I do. It was all about keeping the animal as close to his/her routine as possible. That means coming more than once a day and spending more than 10 minutes just to feed and change water and give a short walk. She spent 20 minutes just playing with Major. Then she fed and watered and walked him. She even cleaned up his accident that happened during the night. She also spent time petting and holding my cats and she watered my plants and took in my newspaper. She left lights on at night so it looked like someone was home and turned them off in the morning. I was soooo relieved to know Major was being cared for and shown affection. Not just fed.

Then I needed her again and when she came to see me for the key, Major was so excited to see her! He remembered her VERY fondly and I'll never forget it. At that moment I said, "If I ever leave my job in healthcare, THIS is definitely what I want to do! I want to work making pets and their owners as happy as Major and I feel right now!"

It has always been my dream that I would love my work. Working with animals, I can litterally do that. So here I am embarking on my adventure and I want to thank you for being a part of the dream I always hoped would come true.
